Kinky Boots, The Tony-Winning Best Musical, Will Launch Its National Tour In 2014 From Las Vegas, Following Its Broadway Success And Six Tony Award Wins, Including Best Score For Cyndi Lauper
National Tour is Set for Broadway Musical
Following its triumph at the Tonys, Best Musical award winner Kinky Boots is now set to hit the road. The hit Broadway musical will launch its national tour in 2014 from Las Vegas, Nevada. Kinky Boots has already been enjoying significant success on Broadway with strong ticket sales, but the Tony stamp approval is always important for giving a show an extra boost when it goes on tour.
Kinky Boots not only won the Tony award for Best Musical, but it also took away five other trophies, including Best Score for Cyndi Lauper and Best Choreography for Jerry Mitchell. Based on the indie film of the same name, Kinky Boots is about a young man named Charlie who inherits his late father's failing shoe factory. A new friend makes Charlie realize that there is an untapped market who need custom 'kinky' boots that can support a manly frame while still looking fabulous.
