A sandwich shop offers its kitchen staff the opportunity to create the perfect sandwich, while the owner attempts to manipulate them.
What's Clyde's Like?
At a truck-stop sandwich shop the callous owner tries to manipulate her formerly incarcerated kitchen staff. She gives them some hope at redemption and a shot at reclaiming their lives.
She creates a competition between the kitchen staff to create the perfect sandwich, but she has ulterior motives for doing so. Does she succeed or does the wave of pride and belonging and the permission to dream overcome the fateful circumstance?

From two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage and and director Kate Whoriskey (Ruined, Sweat), The full creative team includes scenic design by Takeshi Kata, costume design by Jennifer Moeller, lighting design by Christopher Akerlind, sound design by Justin Ellington, original compositions by Justin Hicks.
This play is an good example of Nottage’s ability to bring politically-charged themes to life by embodying them in ordinary characters living working class lives
